Congratulations to Desjardins, the 2008/2009 GHL Champions.

If you were not there to see it, you missed out as Cock N Bull and Desjardins put on a show in the game 3 final.  The bleachers were packed with fans applauding both sides, complete with signs, noisemakers, and hecklers. The game was so close that it had the fans holding their breath on every shot play and was an what was an emotional ride for  both sides.

In the end, CNB could not keep Chris Theodossiou off the score sheet, and could not get enough goals past star goalie John Sianis.  Both Chris and John are first time winners of the GHL cup and were close in the ballots for play off MVP.  Chris however edged John out with 18 total points in the playoffs, 10 goals in the finals, and the game winner in the final game.

Contratilations to Cock N Bull who had to go through both Astro and S&G for their finals appearence.  A great all around team that displayed a great effort. CNB proved a worthy contender out-shooting Desjardins in all three games, but shots on net don't seem to turn into goals when playing Desjardins.

So as Desjardins basks in the glory of being champs, others are starting to plan for next year.  Rumour has it that their is a big return to the GHL from players of the past, that combined with some new blood coming up the ranks the 2009-2010 season is set to be a great one.

Have your ear to the ground for a GHL AGM meeting in June.  Lots to discuss, new captains, new commish, rule changes, and yes, expansion.

Have a great summer everyone and are you in the fall.
